How to Prepare for your Roofing & Siding RFP
Once a building owner decides it’s time for a roofing project, they will often put out a request for proposal (RFP) to professional roofing companies. The RFP is used by property owners and property managers at Homeowner associations, townhomes, condos, and apartment buildings since these are large-scale projects.
As a follow-up to the RFP, we want to learn more about your project and scope of work. The team at IOC Construction will send you follow-up questions to learn more. The RFP sets the stage so that the Property Owner and Roofing Contractor understand all the details of the project.
Generally, at IOC Construction, we want to know the following:
- What major problem are you looking to solve?
- What is the overall scope of work? (how large the project is, how many buildings there are)
- What is the current roof condition? (including any areas of the roof that may require additional attention)
- What is the current attic condition? (important for any ice damming issues)
1. We will inspect all kitchen, bathroom, and dryer vents for proper exhaust
2. We will inspect baffles and insulation - What is the current condition of your siding? (important if leaks are occurring due to snow build-up)
1. We will remove existing vinyl siding – a minimum of 2 rows
2. Install ice and water shield 6-10″ up the wall
3. Install new oversize step flashing
4. Re-install existing siding and trim
5. Install new mock flashing at headwalls - Are there specific types of roofing materials preferred?
- What is your budget?
- What is the timeline for the project to be completed?
- How can IOC Construction help you achieve your goals with this project?
